Is it normal to feel emotional or weepy after giving birth?

YES. Post-birth hormones are like a blender on high speed—with the lid off. One minute you’re weeping at a diaper commercial, the next you’re rage-cleaning the fridge. Totally normal.

Baby blues hit around days 3–5 and usually ease after two weeks. But if you’re feeling deeply sad, anxious, hopeless, or disconnected longer than that, it could be postpartum depression or anxiety—and you deserve support.

You’re not “failing” motherhood if you’re struggling. You’re human. And help is always okay to ask for.
