What’s the difference between foremilk and hindmilk?

Foremilk is the watery, thirst-quenching milk at the beginning of a feed. Hindmilk is the richer, fatty stuff that comes later and helps with satiety and weight gain.

The key is not switching sides too soon so your baby gets a full “meal.” But don’t obsess over it—your body adjusts supply and balance based on baby’s needs.

Think of it like a two-course meal. Let them finish the soup before offering the steak.
